The very commom questions we hear from our patients ,
" At what interval should I get my teeth cleaning done ?"
"Cleaning the teeth will loosen my teeth ?'
"After cleaning procedure i feel sensitivity and gaps ?"
Annual cleaning / scaling is mandatory for every individual ,it not only allows the Dentist to remove the deposits accumulated on the teeth surface (plaque or calculus is a bacterial colony). But also allows dental professionals to conduct a thorough examination of your oral cavity, detect any potential issues early, providing the opportunity for prompt intervention.
Cost-Effective: Preventative measures like scaling are generally less expensive than treating advanced dental issues. By maintaining regular scaling, you can potentially save money in the long run.
"The earlier the better"
Prevents Gum Disease: Dental plaque and tartar buildup on teeth can lead to gum disease if not removed regularly. Scaling helps eliminate these deposits.
If not removed on time the deposits keeps on increasing in size that leads to further detioration of gums causing loosening of teeth in severe situations.
It is a myth that post scaling teeth becomes loose ,infact timely removal of deposits keeps your gums health good thereby strengthening teeth and supported structures .
Freshening Breath: Plaque buildup can lead to bad breath.
Reduces Stains : Stains can not be cleaned with regular brushing or scrubbing the brush harder on the tooth surfaces it may further lead to loss of enamel . Professional Scaling is the appropriate way of removing the tea, coffee, turmeric etc. stains
Post scaling developed senstivity is a major concern of the patients . It is transient and go away in 3 days as soon the saliva forms a protective layer around the teeth.
Post scaling some patients feel gaps .The deposits removed after scaling gives afeeling of emptiness and as described by the patients often as gaps .
In summary, annual teeth scaling is a vital part of maintaining good oral health. It helps prevent gum disease, keeps your breath fresh. Regular scaling also saves your money in the long term by preventing the progression of dental issues.
